Brady Willis is Head of Security Governance, Risk and Compliance at Coretelligent, where he leads the firm’s security advisory practice and chairs its AI Steering Committee. He advises private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, registered investment advisers, life sciences organizations, and defense contractors on the risks that matter most to their boards and investors: cyber, regulatory, third-party, and, increasingly, artificial intelligence.
Brady brings nearly two decades of experience across security operations, enterprise risk advisory, and managed security services. His work rests on a simple premise: security and governance programs earn their place when they help leaders make better business decisions. That perspective shapes how he and his team translate complex technical and regulatory exposure into clear priorities, defensible roadmaps, and reporting that executives and boards can act on.
At Coretelligent, Brady built the firm’s AI Governance service line from concept to market, giving PE firms and their portfolio companies a structured way to inventory AI use, address shadow AI exposure, evaluate model and vendor risk, and report AI risk at the board level. As chair of the AI Steering Committee, he also oversees how the firm itself evaluates, approves, and governs AI tools, so the governance it recommends to clients is the governance it practices.
Before joining Coretelligent, Brady served as Vice President of Security Operations at Armor Defense, where he led global SOC, incident response, detection engineering, and cloud security operations, and defined the requirements for an AI-driven SOC platform that reduced analyst time to decision by 95%. At Kudelski Security, he directed a 40+ person U.S. Managed Detection and Response organization, launching an XDR service that enabled $3.5 million in annual contract value in its first year and building automation that cut threat hunting and detection engineering cycle times by 95% to 99%. Earlier, at Intel, he led the engineering teams behind more than 70 critical cybersecurity applications supporting global manufacturing and corporate IT and launched the company’s CMMC readiness program.
Brady’s board-level advisory experience took shape at Alvarez & Marsal, where, as Director of Global Cyber Risk, he built cyber risk frameworks and board reporting for publicly traded financial institutions under regulatory scrutiny and advised executive teams at major trading, financial services, and industrial organizations on program maturity and strategy. He has also served as a CISO, SOC manager, and incident response analyst, giving him a practitioner’s view of how security programs perform under real pressure.
A U.S. Marine Corps combat veteran who also served in defensive cyberspace operations with the U.S. Army Reserve, Brady later supported U.S. Army tactical biometrics operations in Afghanistan as a civilian engineer. He holds a B.S. in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland University College, and he is pursuing an M.S. in Management at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Gies College of Business.
Brady writes about AI governance, cyber risk in private equity, third-party risk, and building security programs that scale with the business. He is based in Chandler, Arizona.
